Should Pete Dunne be crowned WWE UK Champion at Takeover?
The historic WWE UK Championship tapings took place this past weekend. During the tapings Pete Dunne defeated Trent Seven to become the number 1 contender to Tyler Bate’s UK Title and will challenge him at NXT Takeover Chicago on May 20th.

Dunne is one of the top prospects in the UK currently, his run as the PROGRESS Champion has seen his stock rise exponentially having defeated stars such as Jimmy Havoc, Mark Haskins and longtime rival Mark Andrews.
We here at Turnbuckle Daily believe that Pete Dunne should be the man to carry the United Kingdom division forward. Tyler Bate has been an excellent inaugural champion but the presence and visceral nature of Pete Dunne will set him up nicely as a dominant heel champion.
The WWE United Kingdom division is currently stacked with top babyface performers, the very top of the pile being the aforementioned Tyler Bate, Trent Seven and Mark Andrews. All three of these men have history with ‘The Bruiserweight’ and the potential matchups on the biggest stage of WWE are very exciting.
NXT Takeover in Chicago is the highest platform that both Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne have ever performed on, this is an ideal opportunity for Dunne to capture the title and cement himself as the top player on the brand new WWE UK Network show going forward.
Do you think that Dunne should take the gold? Let us know in the comments.
