How Long will Aleister Black Stay in NXT?
Aleister Black has arrived.
The rumours had been circulating around July/August last year that the former Tommy End would be finishing up his European Independent dates and making his way over to Florida and the WWE Performance Center. End’s final performance for longtime ‘home’ promotion PROGRESS came at the September super show in Brixton.
Fast forward to NXT’s Takeover show at this year’s Wrestlemania weekend….Aleister Black makes his long awaited debut against Andrade Almas and instantly makes himself a star.
Granted the match against Almas was not a classic nor did Black win in the way that he necessarily should have done but the presentation of his character, the entrance, the poise and the intrigue have set him on a course beyond NXT quicker than anyone would have probably guessed.
Those who knew of Black before his WWE debut know the talent that he possesses, however the way in which WWE have taken to the persona and begun to build the mythos behind the character shows that THEY know exactly what they have on their hands here….someone who potentially could be the next Undertaker? Stranger things have happened.
Black’s appearance at the Main Event tapings in London recently and his apparent rumoured move to the 205 Live show are already showing the trajectory that his character may take. Although we here at TD believe that he will not be going to 205 Live the chance of a Neville feud would be too good to pass up.
The question is when will Aleister Black make his move up to the main roster? We’re guessing that it will be in 2017 around Survivor Series time.
Even if Black does not appear on the main roster in this calendar year there are still a great amount of opportunities for him on NXT. The potential bouts that Black could have against the likes of Hideo Itami, Drew McIntyre and Kassius Ohno are also too good to pass on….can we change our minds?
